Guest Nikki35
Hi all. thought id share mine with you as I am now in perth and have been for the last 12 weeks. Were in Mullaloo. I went on recommendation to Maurice Mead at Whitfords after decidinng Toni&Guy was a bit too expensive considering im not working just yet... The girl who coloured it clearly didnt like the british and didnt really speak that much.....Her method of using foils was totally different to what is normally done... however it looked alright on the surface...But needless to say on closer inspectation it isnt really..Long story but because she hasnt really left much of natural colour and top of head when I put my hair up it looks two tone..and then another woman cut it which again was ok but never seen methods used like this before?? And for the cost of $244.....bargain ah...I dont mind paying if its decent but its not even that good....I should of stuck to T&G where i guess it may of been better but who knows.....LOL Nic

jackboots
I am a hairdresser with 22 years experience .. i have worked here for 4 years nearly . I have to say sometimes i cringe when i am asking people for payments in the shops i have worked at since being here , at one it was nearly $200 + per client on average or $ 400 + for straightening etc , but on another note the products at wholesale are well over double the price compared to Uk and also wages etc .. the prices are probably comparable to London but then most of us don't come from there and earn london wages or have ever paid those prices and yes at one of my old Town salons i worked we served Tea in china cups and also a glass of wine etc . I have also worked in Rural village salons .. ambience is lovely but i used to have clients that folowed me around and were more worried about me cutting their hair rather than the salon itself .. of which i am glad . I have loved Hairdressing here and there , i love the industry and still enjoy doing courses cutting , colours, col correction etc ... Give me a break!
I had my last hairdresser for 15 years back in the UK, she became a firm family friend, its so difficult giving that up. Ive been here 2 and a half years now and am still chopping and dyeing my own hair, I shall probably be bold by the time I am

xclairex
Heya girls, I also live in Secret Harbour and I always go to Lisa (English girl and used to be the manager) at Nick Stephan in the shops... She's away this week as she has rellies over, but I have used her for years now and am always pleased. I usually pay $125 for cut, colour and blow dry/straighten too... If she does me some high lights... I pay another 20, but I always chop n change the way it looks anyway and it's very long hair too. Hope this helps Claire x
Debs2001
I'm looking for a haidresser SOR, preferably British. I say that only because I've had some lousy Australian cuts! Someone who can regularly colour too! Any ideas? I'm in Leeming, by the way.

lozzachino
Great stuff! When i moved to the uk it took me about 4 years and many many salons to find a decent hairdresser who actually listened to what i want. Currently pay around 30 quid for wash cut and blowdry, from 60 or 70 upwards for colour, but i dont do that at the moment. Looks like the hunt for a good hairdresser will be on again soon!!! Latic Fanatic
See my post earlier in this thread. My Mrs (Janet) is a mobile Hairdresser and we live in Carramar which; I believe is where you were looking at a rental property (I gave you all the bus / car info on another thread). Drop me a line when you get here if you go for the Carramar rental and I'll pass Janets' number on to you. Jeff.

jimblob
Hi Jacqueline, That's not a problem my number is 0422596569. It's good only been here 5 weeks tomorrow and made loads of friends been round to peoples houses for bbq's my children love their school and the weather's hot. I still have my wobberly days but it is still very early days for us. Bring any medication you need and stock up as this is really expensive to buy here. dont bring any pine cones, or wicker as its not allowed through customs and you'll be charged through the nose if they find it. Good luck with your move and get in touch if your unsure about anything and I'll try to help any way I can. Take care Katie XXX
Rossmoyne
I'm looking for a haidresser SOR, preferably British. I say that only because I've had some lousy Australian cuts! Someone who can regularly colour too! Any ideas? I'm in Leeming, by the way. Tuo Capeli on Parry Avenue in Bateman. They use high quality products and are very professional. The owner is very fussy about her staff and chooses only the best. Thoroughly recommend them, have been going there since they opened about 9 years ago and have never had a bad cut or colour.
