Guest Ethan
I would like to have a 'proper job' whilst also working as a musician/artist on an ABN. Is this possible to do as it will help greatly
Andrew Williams
Hi Ethan Unless you have a visa that has work restrictions attached then there is nothing wrong with what you propose. The ABN is based on you sorting out your own tax, if you work as an employee you will give the employer your TFN and they will pay the required PAYG tax on that income portion to the ATO each time you are paid. At the end of the tax year all income will assessed allowable expenses deducted and your applicable your tax liability calculated, you may owe the ATO more tax or they will owe you tax back but it will all sort itself out in the wash.
