Sorry to hear that you've waited since 2009 and still nothing.

I'd recommend changing the agent, heard only good things about this company: Go Matilda. Try it.

Migrating rules and system changed quite significantly on 1st July 2012. In the new system you have to submit and EOI and take it from there. To submit an EOI you first have to have a skills assessment and sit IELTS test (English language test). The new system is all based on points, the more you get, the more likely it is to get invited to apply for a visa. Yes, you read that right: not anyone can apply for a visa now, only the most highly qualified / skilled people. One has to be invited to apply for a visa. The system (which is called SkillSelect) issues invitation fortnightly (in some cases only monthly) to people with the most points, based on their age, work experience, skills, English language knowledge and so on.

I recommend looking up immi.gov.au and there: SkillSelect. Read everything. If you have the money then do hire a reputable migration agent.

Feel free to post any other questions, the community here is helpful and glad to share knowledge.

I fell like I should just give up! I have waited far to long !

While I am no expert in migrating, or an agent, we need to carefully check the wording : "I have been accepted by wa ss" - I guess you should be granted the visa. What do the agents say? Submitting an EOI, and being nominated by a state (WA SS in this case) usually does the trick (of being able to migrate) - this is my non-expert knowledge.

Only the Australian authority ('the ss') whom you were talking to can tell you how much funds you need to show. If you got in touch with the ss you should ask them all the questions you're still not clear about. It's their area of expertise, and only they can give you 100% accurate answers (indications).

I'm not sure either.

My sister and her family had to show proof of funds ($50000), they arrived in Perth this January. They were even concerned if they had to pay taxes (or some kind of tax) on money brought into Australia. In the end they didn't have to pay any taxes, but it was a troublesome wire-transfer (from South Africa that is) - but they had to show 50 grand as they say.

Perhaps it was something applied only to their case, which was WA state sponsorship (a 175 in the pre-SkillSelect system).

When we applied for WA SS last year September our case officer asked how much we'd be bringing with us. We said that we'd bring approx $20000 to Australia. He then asked if we'd be able to have access to extra funds and all we said was that we'd be able to lend money from relatives if need be. He seemed fine with that ...

Once you receive a CO, they will advice you when you need to get your medical and Police Checks done. Some countries go through lots of internal and external checks.

If you are from UK and just need UK police check you should expect to get your grant not long after you have submitted your police checks and medicals have been finalised all going well with your application.

Cant see how the above can help you, your agent will be able to give you more advice.

You can frontload your medicals and PC but it will give you less time to enter Australia to validate your visas once they are granted.

They? So you're not the same Kristian who works at "International visa and relocation services" then? Incidentally, the MARA number on your website is for a company called 'Umigrate' based in Stoke? I'm presuming that 'International visa and relocation services' must subcontract to 'Umigrate' then?

Anyway, thanks for the 'recommendation'
