jamesw
Now, me and the other half have just been watching Phil pence on TV with his programme wanted down under and they are in the Gold Coast. However, they went to a fish n chip shop there, which was run by poms and served fish n chips UK style. so the other half now wants to see if there are any over here, ideally SOR and even more ideally Rockingham area (we know there is none in Mandurah!) So gang, over to your useful selves!

Guest Nee
One word...Impossible.....a good old English chippy is what I'm missing the most ( sad I know ) but you won't find one in Perth! Open one....it's in desperate need and bound to run itself :-) But if you do find one please do let me know! Cheers
linda@no9
Crikey, was impossible to find a good English fish n chip shop in Bradford let alone Perth! However, we LOVE our local chippy. Portion sizes are huge and extremely tasty!!
nicolac34
We go to the one opposite the tea house/beach in Cottesloe - gorgeous red snapper or whiting freshly cooked. I think it beats what I used to get served up in the UK hands down, they always have a massive queue out the door. Chips aren't quite the same, but I find them nice enough! PaulandDeb
So can you define...fish and chips English style? Yeah i can. Chips made from spuds cut that day, cooked in good oil wrapped in white paper stinking of vinegar, with salt just falling everywhere when you open the bag, oh and steam coming out that takes your breath because of said vinegar:cool:

jamesw
Well, we have found the closest one yet! Not 100% but nearly. Woodbridge Deli, corner of Ennis Avenue and Elanora Drive in Cooloongup.
SusieQ
Have to be honest.....I prefer the chips I get here...especially Secret Harbour. My local Chippy in the UK was ok, expensive though! Run by Chinese and only ever used frozen chips.....and I still have salt and vinegar here. But I reckon its down to what you like and more about what you are use to. Cetainly prefer Snapper to Cod.
