aussiebird2012
Hi all, We have been here now for nearly 5 weeks, Mandurah area (LAKELANDS) and we have an 8 yr old son. We are trying to find out what sort of activities, clubs etc like scouts/cubs, soccer, swimming, surf clubs etc etc...... He hasnt really made that many friends and I would like him to join something to build up a circle of new mates. If anyone can advise I will be so grateful. Thanks in advance! ali
Look on football west (I know Mandurah has a soccer club), also google scouts, football, cricket in Mandurah for local contacts. Have you invited anyone from school for tea after school - great way to start forging friendships for your boy.,

I've seen that's there is a club in port k but it looks of a high standard as there holding trails on there website . Are there any other teams around these areas that we could join . xclairex
Heya georgiajoemillie, our friends son plays at Rockingham and they often play their games at the newish Larkhill Sporting Complex at Port Kennedy. They also have adult games etc too and there is a licensed bar. Here is a link and it shows you who plays there and what sport etc. We have lots of friends here who are friends of ours from back in the UK who followed us over, ha and they all have boys ranging from 6 to 9, so your lad could maybe catch up with them or something. Also, if you just fancy a coffee and would like to learn a little more about the areas around us all, I would be more than happy to catch up with you. If you want my mobile number, just give me a PM Catch you soon Claire http://www.rockingham.wa.gov.au/City-and-community/Community-places/Leisure,-sport-and-recreational/Sports-grounds-and-reserves.aspx#

waynel
Do the kids need studs or just astroturf boots at most clubs?
jamesw
For soccer, kids wear boots as they both play and train on grass
