JoanneandChris
Hi everyone, Does anyone have any comments about living in Madeley or Warwick? We are wanting to rent. Our budget is up to $500. We arrive in February. We will have a 6 month old. My questions about these suburbs are: - Are they too far inland? Do you loose the sea breeze? - Are there any shops, coffee shops or restaurants around? - Are there any clubs/child events etc so that we could meet local people and make friends or do people? - What is the commute like into the CBD? Thanks very much, Joanne

linda@no9
I'm in Madeley and love it. Kingsway shopping center has good selection of shops/cafes. Whitfords for larger. Whitfords is 10-15 mins along Whitfords avenue. It takes me 20 mins to get to the beach and the sea breeze is lovely. Lovely selection of open spaces, big sports complex where there are clubs. My hubs catches the train from Greenwood which is a 10 min drive and then 15 mins on train to Perth center. He then has 30 min train to Midland. Whole journey takes about 50 mins. Love it here! Thanks very much, Joanne Madeley is a newer suburb than Warwick - so new houses on smaller area, Warwick more land with houses but houses a lot older. Both have shops & 15/20mins max to beach. Not too far inland. Greenwood & Warwick have train stations & train takes 16mins to Perth underground station. You should be able to get a rental for under $500 in both areas. Children clubs warwick sports centre, Joondalup, Wanneroo, Mosr suburbs have a playgroup & sports clubs.
Guest Nikki35
The only time you loose the breeze is when ya like in Whiteman/Ellenbrook. It's boiling hot no breeze and extra flies. Warwick is great for transport link to city. Not sure on Madeley. Think it's aall lose. Tbh. Nowhere is that far from City or Beach. Unless ya live in far north or Secret harbour way. Lol But in sure some may argue the point nic
Guest slinkydelinky
Hi we landed in Warwick about 7 months ago and we have loved our time here, my daughter went to Hawker Park Primary school which is a lovely little school and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The housing may be a little older but on the plus side it has plenty of trees (most new suburbs are sadly stripped of these!), bigger blocks and loads of little play areas dotted around (4 on our route to school alone!). Its great being so close to the city this end and great access to the beach but at much more affordable prices which is always good! The centro here services the everyday needs of life just fine and has its own cinema and bowling alley which the kids love. Sea breeze kicks in and is great. Good luck
