Big questions!!!!

Hi, we moved to Adelaide last week and are a bit disappointed. I know it's sounds hasty but we are now thinking of moving to perth as this was my husband's 1st choice. He has already lived and worked in Adelaide but feels this time round it's not the same, also his work connection has fallen through. We know very little about Perth but have heard good things about Carine Primary School. Any suggestions for good suburbs? I'm a primary school teacher, hubby is a joiner, we have 2 boys aged 7 and 5 and a wee girl who is 6 months. We would prefer to be near the beach and close to activities for our kids. Also what is the job situation for myself and my husband?

We have 2 and a half weeks left on our rental here in Adelaide so hope to come to Perth then. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks.

Shelley and Jake.

Hi Shelley and Jake, and welcome!

In terms of schools, if you are going for government schools it very much depends on whether you are in the school's catchment zone or not. That is, if you wanted to send the little ones to Carine Primary, you would need to live in Carine. Catchment zones are very specific and you'll need to provide proof of your residency, eg. by providing a copy of a signed lease to the school.

Not sure how much detail around the actual zones is given, but a good place to start looking is the Dept of Education's website: https://www.det.wa.edu.au/

Good luck, I'm sure others with more specific knowledge will be around to answer your questions shortly!

Jen :)
