Gaz H
Hi Trav, We are in the same boat, got visa grant and planning on the move in sept, there are so many things to think about. Personally we are waiting to book the flights until we have sold house and found temp accomodation, then fit the flights in around the accomodation dates closer to the time. I think it depends on your situation, if we didn't have to sell the house and had all the money ready, then i would book accom and flights right now. I notice you are in somerset, were from Weston-s-Mud! You must be just up the road! Good luck Gaz
Trav1
Hi gaz h We aren't selling our house, renting it out for now, hence the move to oz will be sept/oct as we are saving like mad so we have some cash in the bank in case we are not fortunate to have jobs when we land. We have to validate by 8th nov, don't know what to do about booking flight am thinking if I book in next month or so at least we have something to work to with then to be able to look at accommodation etc with concrete dates. you are not too far away from us we are in street! Do you know what area you will be living in, been looking at all the different areas and it is another hard decision to make!
ali
My experience is that the prices get dearer rather than cheaper the longer you wait. For us (this was a while ago now though), we booked flights, looked for temp accommodation, booked removalists
Gaz H
Trav, We like the look of the mullalloo, hillarys, ocean reef area so are going to aim NOR but who knows where we'll end up. It makes my brain hurt the amount of time ive spent thinking about it, Just going to have to see when we get there. There are loads of good threads on here but the problem is it all sounds good!! What areas have you been looking at? By the way if you have iPhone or iPad etc there is a great app called sky scanner for checking flight prices to Perth, if you are not sure what date you are traveling you can see the cheapest dates / airline throughout the year, you should take a look! Your opinions/advice would be most appreciated! many thanks:smile: Hi Trav Happy New Year! We are in exactly the same situation. Looking to move Edgewater, Sinagra etc in Nov. We have just started to look for flights to get a rough date to aim for. If you are taking pets you need to think at least 6 months ahead for the rabies jab and bloodtest. We got the visa on 28/12 and this week we will be starting to get the quotes for the container and get the house whipped into shape and on the market. Loads to do and time is just bound to fly by! Good luck with it all let us know how you get on. I do know the earlier you book flights the better the price you get. Singapore Airlines seem to be good value at about that time, some good flight times too. Kev

Not to sure what the drive into the Cbd during the rush hour would be..... Anyone?
