bwatt99
Is it worth taking a car to australia or really if its a high value car or vintage, reason i ask just thinking there maybe i can take mine, but to be honest its a 2006 now is it really worth it. I was planning on just shipping my household stuff and get a 20ft container but was thinking maybe i could get a 40ft one and ship car as well,do the shipper ship cars and your household stuff in same container?whats the changes of car getting damaged while household stuff is in there. I wonder price of 40ft vs a 20ft is it worth it with adding a car, what costs are involved when taking a car do you pay fees or other stuff when taking a car,i only have got a astra and i go it from almost new but i thought probably best sell it and with that money get something over there is this a better option, just someone said to me take car im just not sure now, cost of bigger container and maybe other costs vs buying another car over there is it worth it and are parts available over there for astra,i see there are cars like it but they seem to be called holden and not vauxhall are they the same company
coastie
Have a look at redbook.com.au and see what your car is worth over in Oz. 20ft container will cost about £4000. 40ft will be around £6500. (That's what I've been quoted) You have to apply for approval to ship the car before it can be loaded in the container. Have a word with Iron Lady imports. ironladyimports.com There are other fees but can't remember what they were exactly but they were about $1000. Chardy
Holden and Vauxhall are the same so parts no problem but from what I've seen you may be better off selling it due to it's relative low worth. Iron lady are the best to advise you.

If it had been a bmw, audi or something of a higher value im sure it would be,but i will see what he says
bwatt99
Best sell it im told unless i really like the car and plan on keeping for a while,im not too bothered about and have had it 4 yrs in a few months and it is an o6 so getting old,by the time i pay the extra and extra for shipping vs selling it and using that money for another car probably not worth it its also a 1.6l and most cars like this i seen was 1.8,so selling it i will do
Guest Davidou
I had ship my car and my goods in a 40ft container. I did it with a company called shipfromUK . But you can't take "a tonne" of goods with your vehicle in the container.
Lou8670
Same dilemma here but we were quoted by Iron Lady just over £5k for a Disco. Our stuff is going in a 20ft container.
