Hi everyone,

thought I would write a little update on our up and coming move :) my OH was offered a job just before Christmas for an engineering position in Perth. This was such amazing news as we've been trying for so long to get sponsored!

He now has 3 months working for the company in their London office before we move out to PErth. We have been incredibly lucky with all flights and relocation paid for. It's just the two of us, in our mid to late twenties.

today we had all our qualifications certified by a local solicitor. The company are sorting out the visa but I'm guessing that until this is sorted we won't be able to book flights? Just a little concerned as if the visa process takes 6-8 weeks that will only leave us with a few weeks before knowing a departure date?! Aghhhhhhh I'm just getting nervous.

anyone else moving soon? We have lived in perth before on a working hol visa and are so excited about going back !! :arghh:

moving to bunbury at the end of the month. have to pack, organize the house for rental, and still waiting for 457 visa. oh, and we havent booked our flights yet. We have 4 children aged 16,13,11 and 9. the older two kids want to be able to start school on the first day back which is feb 4th. to say i'm stressed it putting it mildly. We only found out (after 8 months of hard work) that my oh got his medical registration. and trying to decide if its worth the money and hassle taking a few pieces of furniture. Not sleeping too well!!!!!!!

Wow norah9, sounds like you have a lot on. It will all come together in the end and just think in a matter of weeks you'll be down under. What job are you gong to out there? We've been given an allowance by the company to spend on either/or shipping and temp. Accommodation. We are not bothering to take any furniture etc just the bare essentials and will start a fresh when there.

Rentals are hard to get, from living there before there is always a lot of competition for a good property. Hopefully wel have time to find somewhere we like and not rush into somewhere. We are not sure on suburbs. We lived in east perth before, very central. We want more space this time but still be fairly central. We don't have children so schools etc are not a requirement.

Hi!

haven't decided on a suburb yet will probably be fairly central as we are both working in the CBd. Will have temp accommodation for the first few weeks. Ay tips on suburbs?! We're are both in our mid and late twenties, no children. Want to be close to the action but in a nice neighbourhood with good links. Where are you? X
