aligard Posted January 13, 2013 Report Share Posted January 13, 2013 Hi, I'm a primary teacher ( with a specialist maths teacher qualification) and we ( husband - carpenter and 7 year old twin boys) are hoping to begin the process of emigrating to WA. Any advice would be great regarding availability of primary teaching jobs. Is it possible to apply to independent schools before we ( hopefully) arrive? What are the chances? slim?? DyLeB Posted January 13, 2013 Report Share Posted January 13, 2013 Speaking to an agent - regardless if you are going to use one would be best place to start. They will be able to say, which of you would be better to be the primary applicant, and if there are any issues with your case, and if you would be able to get a positive skills assessment. Primary Teacher is on CSOL - therefore would need State Nomination Carpenter is on SOL therefore be able to go down either independent or state nomination, but less points and harder Skills assessment.
