Hi my name is Sally and my son is Charlie. We are planning to move out to north Perth early next year and wondered if anyone else on the site is in the same situation as us, and would like to chat/ meet up? :D

Hi Suzy, great to hear from you. My son is 14 this week, and he is saying that he doesnt want to leave his friends( totally understandable) so Im working on him at the mo! I think he will be fine once we get out there. So what do you do? I have a job lined up, Im a nurse. Have you found it difficult or easy to make new friends? It seems that most pple on here are couples or family groups, so nice to here from another singleton! Im just starting my visa process, and the workplace tell me it should take 3-6 months to process, though I keep reading on here that its taking longer than that, so who knows! Where abouts have you settled? Im thinking north of the river for us, Ill be working in subiaco. Hope to hear from you again soon xx

Hi, im a nurse too-working at hollywood hospital and living in shenton park-right next to subiaco, will you be working at st. john of god? Im sure your son will be fine once here-lots to do. It has been hard to meet people, partly due to working nightshifts last 10 months and also lack of babysitters, also have found that most couples are only looking to meet other couples, but am getting there.

Hi, wow, thats amazing! We can even talk shop too! Yes Ive got a job at SJOG, do you know what its like to work there? I went for an interview when i was over in August, and they seemed lovely, and they have been very hepful and supportive so far. I was also offered a job at Joondalup hospital, but as SJOG was further through the process, decided to stay with them.I know what you mean, its not easy to meet new folks when your not a couple is it. Do you have family out there? Any advice fora novice such as myself?

No family here so has been hard at times, going bk to UK for 3 wks over xmas. I think SJOG is pretty good by all accounts, think its more of a close knit hospital from what i can gather. I have been working on a respiratory ward the last 10 months but am now in recovery, did 4 years on MAU in the UK before that. Love recovery which i only started a month ago. Are you coming on a 457 visa or going for PR instead?

Hi again, my post is on a general surgical ward, the same as ive been doing for the past 3 years. Im coming out on a sponsored visa, 457, and renting my house out. thought id give us a couple of years to settle and the climate to improve, before selling up over here. which visa are you on? how long did it take to process?
