spearwood area good or bad?

Hi - Yes we live in Spearwood, we bought here 18 months ago. My honest answer is that some areas good some not as nice which I'm sure can be said for a lot of suburbs. We live on the Spearwood/Coogee Boarder and are west of Rockingham Road (so nearer the coast) and we live in a very family friendly cul de sac with nice houses surrounding. Not sure about areas east of Rockingham road or towards Hamilton Hill or too close to Pheonix shopping centre. Happy to answer any specific questions if you want any info :) Amy

Newton Primary is about 800 meters away from our house on a map! Good luck getting it - yes the rentals are very difficult to secure, am sure you have had advice already but it helps if you can commit to a long lease eg at least a year and also paying several months up front eg 3-6months can be a sweetener too :)

Amy can i ask if you know what newton school is like, when/if we get our visa we will be moving to spearwood not far from the market garden swap. i think this is the school in the catchment area but not 100% sure. thanks gemma

Hi Gemma,

Gosh sounds like you will be very close to where I am at the moment - I have just got back from doing a walk around the Market Garden Swamp!

Im so sorry but I know absolutely nothing about the primary schools in the area as I dont have kids myself and my friends kids are all just bubs!

I have a feeling that Coogee Primary on Mayor road is pretty desirable for this area tho.

The only info I can give is that obviously Newton School is in the part of Spearwood to the east of Rockingham Road which is not as desirable as the part to the west of Rockingham Road (eg Market Garden Swamp) - I not sure if that would affect things....

Sorry I cant help more on that one, but if there is anything else about the area you want to know please dont hesitate to ask :) Amy
