What was the process like? How long did it take? Any risks we might need to manage? Did you have a contingency if it didn't pan out? Anyone unsuccessful? fifi69 Posted April 25, 2013 Report Share Posted April 25, 2013 Hiya cant help much cos we have only started process this month. so far it's basically been gathering paperwork, most of it is what you had to submit for 457 but in a bit more depth, details of family, everywhere you've ever been in the last 10 years etc etc. Also sending off for police checks here and in the UK. Would imagine if your a straight forward case and have the time then do it yourself. We have gone down the agent route though, she is local, based in Myaree. Give me a shout if you want her details. Any decent agent will give you a free initial consultation, if you want to run your own case past them. We have been quoted a timeline of 9 months. We are going to Perth in the next few weeks and we are planning to apply for pr too. How much did you pay for medical checks? We arrived on a 457 December 2011, applied for RSMS PR Visa March 12, granted PR in Sept 12, I was company sponsored, not that it helped, ended up doing most of the leg work myself to push it through as I knew the RSMS scheme was changing and it was in my interest to get it through ASAP, what visa are you going for? You going to need a new UK police cert, an Aussie Police cert and medicals are easy, Medibank in the city do them. I don't see the point in using an agent unless you have to do TRA or similar. The intention is to apply for pr as soon as I can. Culd you advise what paperwork was needed when applying for pr? I'm unsure what paperwork to bring over? Druid Posted April 30, 2013 Report Share Posted April 30, 2013 Im here thru 457 company sponsor ship,and working as a nurse , could you pls advise what type of PR visa can I apply.many thanks If you go down the company sponsored route such as RSMS or ENS you have to do two years on a 457 first, or you could go skilled independent which means you don't have to do your two years on the 457, but it would take two years to get the visa anyway , the only advantage of doing it this way is you wouldn't have to stay with your employer for yet another two years after the visa was granted once you have the skilled independent visa you can do as you please. best advise is to go talk to a migration agent, most of them offer a free consultation to start with, get your options and then take it from there.
