kerry267
Hi Olivia, I can't offer any advice as I'm still in the UK. I move to Perth in July and have 2 daughters, one is 13 years old. She is excited about the move but nervous about starting a new school. We are looking at schools north of the river too so you're in a very similar situation. I'll get her to reply to your message if that's ok? Might be good to chat to someone who feels the same.. Kerry

Isa
Hi Olivia I'm Isabelle, my mum is the one who replied to this post. I'd like to talk to people my age who are moving over to perth too. We are looking at schools north of the river aswell, Ocean Reef, Duncraig or Woodvale so it's possible we could end up at the same school! Or be near enough to meet up. I will send you a pm
Levi
Hi Olivia, seems you are in front of an adventure. I'm sure your parents are taking care of everything, all you need to do is be willing to go. From what I have read in the last couple of months, Australia - Perth included - is a great place to be. Parents are doing all of this - the migration I mean - for their kids. So picture this: all of this goodness and greatness is for you. One more thing: all kids settled in just fine in Australia, made lots of friends and are currently enjoying the new lifestyle (this was written by parents). Take care! Del70
Hi Olivia - I'm a mum of two teenage daughters. We went to live in New South Wales in Australia a couple of years ago, and were there for eight months. Both my daughters went to school during that time - one was 11, the other was 14. It was a big thing for them, and I was nervous for them the first day they went to school........ When they got home that afternoon, they were buzzing! They'd had a great time, and had already made friends! By the time we had to leave when our 8 months was up, they were really upset at having to leave their new school and friends!! My daughters found that people were interested in them and where they had come from, rather than being picked on because they were slightly different. They still keep in touch with their friends in Oz.......... Just be yourself, and you'll probably find that there are others who are in the same boat as you, or have been in the past, as people seem to move around and change schools quite a bit - at least they seemed to where we were living! Good luck!
