Migrate, migrate, migrate ......

Recommended Posts

Does everyone go through this in the beginning? I wake and think of oz, on the train I'm checking out Perth poms, I bore people at work with my plans, train home, I log in here for updates, get in I'm reading booklet 6, phone calls for references, wages slips, checking savings, moving money around to boost said savings. Weekend mornings before the kids are up I'm watching 'wanted down under'!!! And we haven't submitted anything yet! (want everything together before we do) goodness knows what I will do if refused!

.....and breath.....!

Sorry not migration issue, more mental issue! Ha

Crikey! I sounded just like that when i was in London before arriving in Oz! Back then, everyday, I'd be imagining about life in Australia, the good weather, the wholesome lifestyle, the beach, the open space and the time spent with family. And do you know what? Its been everything I wished for and more! I know there are a lot of people on here that have had a struggle and it hasn't worked out, but I reckon more people post about negative experiences and tough times more than those who its worked out for.

I honestly still pinch myself everyday to the fact that we're living the way we do here in Australia. The weather is consistently fantastic (get to bbq delicious fresh prawns frequently as well as all kinds of good meats), the white sandy beaches is a 20min drive away, nature parks and bush walks are close by, wide open roads in the countryside, the kids and us spend way more time outdoors, feel happier and we're financially in the best position than we've ever been and we've only been here for a year and 4 months.

Its working for us ;)

Good luck with your adventure - hope it works out.

I think a lot of us are like that, and it's what keeps driving us forward.

We actually lived in Oz for a short time, so we kind of know what to expect. We worry more about job prospects and cost of living, and realise that if we do ever make it out there for good, it could be a real battle to make ends meet for a while.

Must be mad!

Yep I'm like it constantly, my whole life revolves around the date I get on that plane - which is only 56 days away now. I get so excited reading comments like Plumber Paul's, I just want to go NOW. Good luck with everything.
