Akasully2
Looked at the content for meds today. Adult £255 (med, x-ray, blood test), child 11-14 £190 (med, x-ray), Child 10 and under £90 (med only). I may be a Few quid out as this is from memory. So looking at other people's history here, it seems that once you get the meds & police checks done you only have a short wait to see if you get granted the visa! I cant believe that we are nearly there then. It has been such a long and arduous journey that it seems strange to see the end in sight. Does anyone know what the time restrictions are to actually move over there if you have done the validation trip option? How long are the visas open for? The Santers
Hello! We lodged our Visa on the 31st May but its so close I think we count as part of the June group! My sister is getting married in the Whitsundays on the 1st Oct so we are desperately trying to get our visa approved and get out there in September to save us paying for flights back and out again so we are under a bit of time pressure! No CO assigned yet but should be next week if it will be within the 5 weeks we were advised... UK police checks are back (just waiting for Australian for my husband to be posted) and we completed our medicals on Monday so we are ready to Looking on here it seems to happen quite quickly so we just have all fingers crossed it will work quickly for us when the CO is assigned and we can get planning the big move! Hope it moves quickly for everyone!

Your visa is valid for 5 years from the date of issue. Ours stated we must enter Australia within 1 year of our PCC date (as this was a few weeks earlier than our meds) and be in Australia on 6 June 2018 when our visa expires. I assume then you can apply for a resident return visa although I haven't looked into whether there are requirements to be issued with a RRV. I think I read somewhere you have to have been resident for 2 years to be issued a RRV but don't quote me on this.
raymund84
Hi Anyone knows how many average working days to wait from lodgement of 190visa to Assignment of CO.. Submitted last 21 June 2013. Thanks and Godbless us all
Nikkis2000
Hi Raymund, The DIAC official times vary depending in the visa type (190 is 5 weeks, so 25 BD). However I have seen some comments on here that people are being assigned in 2-3 weeks, 10-15 BD. we lodged on the 15th and haven't had a CO yet. Doing the medicals today! John S
We lodged our 190 visa application on June 21st. In the process of gathering police checks, I need four of them after spending time working or holidaying more than a year in different countries. So that means four police checks from four different countries. I can not get one from Iraq, where I worked for eighteen months, so have to write a declaration for that one. Two of the others are in the process of being done and another needs to be applied for, so they will not be completed until August / September time. I am currently overseas working again so can not do medicals until about August / September as well. So it looks like I will have to wait a little while to complete that side of things. Even though I have just completed a medical for work it won't be of any use to me and have to get another one. Hoping to have the visa by end of the year and start the move in the new year. We are planning on relocating to Thailand for a few months after leaving England and travelling from there to activate visa and fly back. I have to apply for my electrical license which is going to take a while so cheaper to sit in Thailand and fly back and forth while waiting for this. I already have a rental planned, off a mate, for when we do decide to move for good, so things should be smooth that side of things. So, as the saying goes - hurry up and wait some more. ashleymhale
Hi guys did anyone have trouble getting into their medical checks. I've got a message saying health checks have not been determined for this applicant and will be advised the next time you view this page... But not getting anywhere and hoping to arrange medical a ASAP!!!! Its probably something to do with the IT problems DIAC have been having this last week. Its all to do with the massive increase in applications due to people trying to beat the 1st July price increase. As its the 1st July tomorrow I'm guessing it will all go back to normal. At least I hope so we're waiting on our visa decision! Best of luck to you anyway. Oh btw, I believe you can still book a medical. Just phone the clinic you want to attend and give them your TRN number and they can locate you on the e-medical system. They had my name spelt incorrectly and I still managed to complete my medical. Nancy
I've already tried that but they said they didn't have me on the system yet. Ill try again this week and see if we're on yet;)
Walkabout
Hi, We lodged on the 10th June and had medicals on the 22nd. We found out yesterday that my sons medical has been B graded and so has probably been referred because of his asthma :-( so I had best settle in for a 4 month wait. So frustrating to be so near but so far!

Nikkis2000
Thanks- Me too! I'm not sure how much more of this my nerves can take Haven't got a CO yet but PCC and Med results are due back by the end of the week. Has a massive panic this morning when I read the post above about meds being referred due to asthma. I spoke to my agent who thinks I should be ok as mine is only very mild. Fingers crossed as a four onth delay could ruin some of our plans!! N
ashleymhale
The nerves are horrible, we know exactly how you have been feeling. I promise you once its granted it will all be worth it. Hold on in there.

ashleymhale
Congrats to you!!! Hopefully we won't be far behind we lodged our 190 on 4 June but as yet have not been assigned CO. What's your plans now? Thank you for the congratulations. The plan is now to start looking for jobs. We are planning to go at the end of November. We are house-sitting for some friends in Joondalup for 5 weeks over christmas whilst they return to the UK to visit their families. This gives us the perfect opportunity to find a rental, sort out schools etc over christmas and hopefully start work at the start of the new year. We have been monitoring flights prices and I expect we will book flights in the very near future. I have a couple of work contacts I am very keen to speak to. Good luck with your application, I hope you receive your grant very soon.
Walkabout
Hi Nikkis2000, To be honest I think we were a bit unlucky with the referral, I dont think everyone with asthma gets referred, the clinic said it was 'mild and well managed but as an ongoing condition automatically received a B grade rating' I am not sure all Drs would agree with that, and to be honest my hubbie also has mild asthma and wasnt referred, so you tell me! The other thing I keep telling myself is that as a family of 5 our chances were that much higher that someone would get referred for something or even picked up as a random A grade referral. I will just have to try to be patient and remember that in the grand scheme of things, it is a drop in the ocean.... now lets just see if I can maintain that philosophy for the 3 or 4 months that it is going to take to get through the system! Ashleymhale - many congratulations on your visa, you flew through the system! enjoy your celebrations and let the planning and packing commence!
